Behold the Lamb of God

Behold the Lamb of God…

silent as a sheep before it shearers

when we mocked and scorned Him in our lives and our hearts.

Behold the Lamb of God…

bearing His own cross to the Place of a Skull

that He may carry our iniquities as far as the east is from the west.

Behold the Lamb of God

Who had no form or majesty that we should look upon Him

but now sits at the right hand of God, gloriously clothed in majesty.

Behold the Lamb of God
Who is worthy to break the seven seals of the book
and yet gives us His Word everlasting and true.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who looked to the cross with joy to give us life
and rose again to receive the name which is above every name.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who sees all and knows all and yet
demonstrates His love toward us while we were yet sinners.
Behold the Lamb of God,
deserving and commanding all glory and honor and praise,
yet for a time humbling Himself for the glory of His name.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who submitted to the will of the Father to fulfill the Law
that was our tutor and brought us to Him.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who needs no other and is like no other,
yet rejoices when His chosen ones repent, trust, and obey.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who intercedes day and night for us against the accuser,
Whose blood allows us to boldly approach the throne of mercy and grace.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Whose love is so expansive and marvelous and great,
that I will not ever be able to completely comprehend this Love.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who offers rest to the weary soul, a yoke light to bear
Whose commandments are sweet as honey in trial and joy.
Behold the Lamb of God,
Who will one day return to judge and to call home,
Oh, for that day, for that day!
Behold, the Lamb of God!
